Dr. M. Rajaram Narayanan holds a Ph.D. from Anna University and has held leadership roles, including Principal at various prestigious institutions. He currently serves as the Managing Trustee of Pranavam Trust, which focuses on educational services spanning Engineering, Medical, Paramedical, and Legal studies. Dr. M. Rajaram Narayanan is also actively involved in Post-Doctoral Fellowship programs at the Singapore Institute of Technology, Singapore.

With a rich blend of academic and legal expertise, I have spent over 30 years contributing to higher education and academic governance. My professional journey encompasses roles in academic administration, regulatory affairs, and strategic institutional development, while also practicing as an advocate in the Supreme Court of India. As a permanent member of the Supreme Court Bar Association, I bring a unique legal perspective to academic matters, ensuring institutions comply with regulatory frameworks and maintain the highest standards of quality and innovation.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Liaison with AICTE: I lead efforts to introduce new academic programs, manage student intake expansions, and facilitate the appointment of Professors of Practice to strengthen the connection between academia and industry. Additionally, I secure funding for academic events such as conferences, Short-Term Training Programs (STTPs), workshops, and seminars, along with research grants for pioneering projects.
Accreditation Management: I manage the accreditation processes with NBA, NAAC, and ABET, ensuring the institution consistently meets and exceeds accreditation standards, fostering a culture of academic excellence.
UGC Coordination: I oversee the institution’s applications for autonomous and university status, working closely with the University Grants Commission (UGC) to ensure compliance and institutional autonomy.
NIRF Ranking Coordination: I coordinate the preparation and submission of data for the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), working to enhance the institution’s national standing through strategic improvements in academic and operational performance.
Funding Proposal Development: I lead the creation of comprehensive funding proposals for submission to government and non-government agencies, securing resources for research, infrastructure, and academic projects that drive institutional growth.
Legal Advisory: Drawing on my legal expertise, I provide advice on academic legal matters, including contract management, intellectual property, and compliance with national education policies, ensuring the institution remains aligned with regulatory requirements.
Program Development and Curriculum Enhancement: I collaborate with academic departments to design new courses and improve existing ones, aligning them with AICTE guidelines and ensuring they address emerging industry trends and future employability needs.
Institutional Governance: I play an integral role in institutional governance, advising senior leadership on policy formulation, accreditation processes, and compliance, while also contributing to long-term strategic planning.
Partnership Building: I foster partnerships with national and international academic institutions, industries, and research organizations to drive collaborative initiatives and knowledge sharing that enhance the institution’s academic offerings.
Workshops and Faculty Development: I organize workshops and faculty development programs (FDPs), ensuring continuous professional growth and keeping the faculty up to date with the latest in educational trends and practices.
